She's My Daughter, Not a Creature
On a stormy night, Claire gives birth to mermaid daughter Sophie and hides her in a secret cove. A fisherman accidentally photographs Sophie, and the pictures fall into the marine center’s hands. Exploiting legal loopholes, the institution classifies Sophie as marine life, capturing and torturing her for pearls. Claire sneaks in as a cleaner to rescue her. Allying with conscientious staff and repentant townsfolk, they open an abandoned tidal waterway. Breaking through greedy barriers, they set Sophie free to the ocean. Linked by a sensing pearl, mother and daughter promise to meet at every sunset, gaining everlasting love across land and sea.
